Amani Alonazi is the technical lead artificial intelligence scientist at Boeing in ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ.

She joined Boeing Research and Technology in 2019, and as part of her role at Boeing, she has been leading artificial intelligence and machine learning projects in the Middle East, Turkiye and Africa region since 2022.

Alonazi is at the forefront of developing AI and machine learning solutions that enable autonomous systems to enhance the safety of aerospace technologies. Her algorithms allow these systems to understand their surroundings and provide crucial insights.

Between 2019 and 2022, Alonazi served as a visiting researcher at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology at the Image Video Understanding Lab and Visual Computing Center in Thuwal, ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ. Through this experience, she collaborated with Professor Bernard Ghanem in the areas of graph convolutional networks and vision for automation research.

Alonazi has been a professional member of the computer systems technical committee of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics since 2022, and has previous administrative experience as president of student unions in both the Association for Computing Machinery chapters and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics from 2017 to 2020.

Alonazi has also been recognized for her achievements throughout her academic and professional experiences, including winning the Asia High Performance Computing Best Research Award in 2017 at the ISC High Performance annual global meeting for Technology Providers and Users in Frankfurt, Germany.

Alonazi holds a Ph.D. degree in computer science from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology as well as two master’s degrees in computer science from KAUST and University College Dublin in Ireland, in addition to her bachelor’s degree in computer science and information technology from King Saud University.
